Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shrine, where a samurai culture flourished,was founded by Minamoto no Yoritomo, a 12th-century shogun who established the first military government in Japan. Here, at the center of Kamakura, where Tsurugaoka Hachimangu stands, samurai led by Yoritomo offered their prayers and gratitude to the shrine for the prosperity and protection of the nation.

Kotoku-in, located in Kamakura, Japan, is a Buddhist temple renowned for Great Buddha (Daibutsu).
The centerpiece of Kotoku-in is the iconic Great Buddha statue, a 13.35-meter (43.8 feet) tall bronze figure of Amida Buddha. Originally started to build in 1252, this majestic statue stands in the open air, having survived earthquakes, tsunamis, and typhoons. It is one of Japan's most famous and photographed landmarks.
Visitors can enter the interior of the Great Buddha statue, offering a unique perspective on its construction and the craftsmanship of the era.
Kotoku-in is located in Kamakura, a city rich in historical and cultural sites. Nearby attractions include Hase-dera Temple, famous for its beautiful gardens and panoramic views of the coastline, and Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, an important Shinto shrine with significant historical relevance.

When finishing sightseeing Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and Komachi-dori street, then easily accecible to Enoshima from there.
